Yes, it's common. Unfortunately there's nothing u can do about it as it's her choice to keep his name if she wants to.

A lot of factors come into this. Are there children from the marriage? that could be a reason to keep the namd. How long were they married. if all her charges, social security, job related stuff are in the name, then she might not want to go throught the hassle of legally changing it back. also perhaps she didnt' like her maiden name. My daughter was only married for 3 years, and had no kids. She never did change her name on any cards, etc., but the marriage license gave her last name as his. Needless to say she probably shouldn't have gotten married in the first place, but...

so yes, it is normal if that's what she wants to do.

It's fairly normal. My father's first wife kept his last name (they had a son), and my brother's ex-wife kept the name - even though they didn't have any kids; she just liked the sound of it better. This isn't unusual.

My mom actually kept her own name, so, ironically, the woman whom my dad have not seen in 40 years still carries his name, and the woman he's been married to for the last 33 years does not. But - however it works out!

My husband's ex kept his last name. It is annoying but I understand why, she wants to have the same last name as her son. She said that if she remarries she would change her name.

If there are no kids involved it is weird to keep the name. Although she could just be to lazy to change it.

Guys can actually make an ex-wife change her name by putting it in the divorce decree. I don't know if you can go back and put that in though after the fact.

Uh, there are a number of subject concerns you're blending up right here. Strictly speaking, until they remarried, then they do no longer look to be at the instant married. this is actual. in spite of the undeniable fact that, it relatively is no longer your activity to run around correcting what all and sundry else says. neither is it any of your organization regardless of if or no longer they marry. As on your thoughts, why make your self unhappy over something that has no longer something to do with you?

YEs it is Very Normal . I am with a man that was divorced 7 years ago from his ex wife and she still has his last name . IF she took it when they got married then that is her legal last name know and in some states to change it back to your madden name it costs you to do that and alot of paper work to get your maiden name back . Sorry but unless she is willing to drop that last name she will have his last name for ever tell she remarrys .

Alot of women keep their married names even after a divorce, especially if there are children involved. I have noticed in my area that unless the divorce is incredibly messy and they absolutely hate their exes or they are in a position of high authority then they keep their married names.

Yes it,s normal costs to change it. I had mine for 19yrs til i married again and i didnt want a diff name than my kids when they were younger. Anyway it is her legal right to keep it. Doesn't mean any thing so plz dont read anything into it and drive yourself nuts. Every divorcee keeps thier married name the majority anyway.

It's perfectly normal. Many women choose to keep their married name, especially if they have children who also share the name. Some women do not want their children to have a last name different from their own.
