I think it is 14, my son told his mom he was moving in with me when he was 16. She couldn't stop him. I'm not really sure.

Most likely 16 but it may differ depending on what state you live in. I would bring up your concerns with your mother, explain them, and then perhaps seek legal help to cancel visitation.
This should only be done if the reason you don't like to visit is because of danger or abuse.
Otherwise, cut your dad some slack. He loves you but doesn't get to spenc much time with you. It probably hurts him deeply inside, something which divorced men struggle with every day. Instead, try to be proactive and loving and build a great relationship with him. It will be well worth your while.

I am unaware of your age, but you must be young.
At the age of 18, you are considered an adult.
I do not think the decision on going to your dad's house is a matter of age as it is a matter of maturity.
I came from a divorced family also. My dad remarried a women that was cold and didn't treat me nicely. I never let her or anything else stop me from wanting to spend time with my dad. I would encourage you to reconsider your position and find a way to enjoy the time you get to spend with your dad. One day, he won't be there any more.
Good luck and good love.

Every state is different, in Kansas the age is 11, children can choose which parent they would like to live with. Check with you school counselor. They should be able to get the information for you.

if you're a teenager, you could ask if you can make the choice not to go, unless he is abusive you should look forward to some time with your Dad. This is sad, many children don't have an opportunity to see their Dad...

Legally I think 18 but if you are a teenager it might work. Talk to your Mom about it. Why don't you want to go?

Normally for most states it's 14 but your mom can ship you there if she wants. Talk with her!
