He missed a penalty kick against Buffon. Better yet, Buffon jumped the wrong way and Trezeguet still somehow didn't manage to put the ball past the goal line. Was he trying to imitate Zidane's penalty kick in the same game, because both their shots deflected off the crossbar? Except in Trezeguet's case, the ball didn't go in.
Everyone misses PKs now and then, but Treezeguet must have been embarrased after his miss, because he was largely responsible for France's loss - that too, in the Final.

David Trezeguet is a fabulous player, missing a penalty kick doesn't make a player bad, it happens to everyone.Back in 1994 Roberto Baggio missed a penalty kick which would of brought Italy to victory and he's one of the best players in the world ..it happens even to the best players!

David is a fabulous player. It's very hard coming on as a sub and not having the opportunity to get your game flowing and your eye for the ball measured, before having to take a penalty shot in the most important game of your career.Sometimes they can and sometimes they can't. Davids confidence was low after being left out of major playing time because of a coaches belief in Astrology. Besides that, carrying the disappointment of millions on your shoulders is more punishment than anyone deserves to endure. He'd never miss that shot again if you paid him to. Granted the game would probably be different if he had not been the sub as he would not have taken the shot. But to blame him is unrealistic and uncharitable. Honestly it happens to the best of them at some point or other, it just happened for David in front of billions.

Trezeguet is not a bad player at all. Basing that assumption on one WC and that penalty kick is pretty harsh!! :[
So remember Euro Cup 2000 when he scored that goal against Italy?!?! He basically won the title for France.

No, I wouldn't call him a bad player, I'll call him human, cause none of us are perfect and we all make mistakes. I think he's a great player, and don't forget it was his golden goal that won France EURO 2000. Don't right him off for one mistake!
