Absolutely no. Robots are programmed for a start. To experience emotions and feelings you require physical hardware, or software such as the skin, a life force is an absolute must.

So unless something has a life force it absolutely does not have feelings and emotions.

You can program a robot to act out an emotion, but that's all it is - a programmed response.

Did you know by the way that if you don't use your life force you will have very little likelihood of experiencing states of bliss, or angelic experiences for instance. You need your sensory organs for this. Something that is well worth pondering on the more we get into virtual reality.

No a robot cannot feel any emotions, since a robot has no ability to reason like other live things . A robot is programmed to make a response to programed questions or statements and that is all it can do. Maybe someday when robots have living brain cells that can reason and make decisions by using experiences, then they will feel something similar to emotions.

Since there are not yet robots with any intelligence or self-awareness, no. Robots do not 'feel' anything. They are computers.

Well I doubt that the one that put my car together has any emotions. Have you been watching Star Trek Next Generation too much?

I believe that we can insert chip that can trigger robots to "react" to certain emotions.. but they can never "feel" emotions.

Yes, in "The Wizard of Oz".

Seriously, I think the possibilities of a "man-made" human are well within this century. If our PCs stick around long enough, they could eventually help us create one in a home-based lab using a home-made protoplasm recipe.

Since "emotion" as we define it comes from chemicals interacting with specific regions of our brain...no.
Robots don't have brains like we have, and they don't process chemicals in them like we do.
