Cause they are fakers.
Being phoney.They try to act like whatever was said was funny,yet deep down inside,they can't stomach the situation.

They are uncomfortable. Kind of how when our boss comes around and says, "Good Morning" everyone rushes out their office to make sure he hears them say respond then they give a fake chuckle. What are you laughing about? Good morning is not funny.
It is very annoying.

ha ha ha funny you mention that. Some people laugh at everything because they are trying to be friends with everybody so they can move up the corporate ladder. These are the same brown-nosers that you usually say "He has his face so up my bosses rear that I don't know where my boss' body ends and that brown-noser's begins"
