The letter "L" because of three reasons:
1) Whether in it's capitol or lower case form, it creates a face when you put it in quotation marks. "L" & "l"
2) It is so simple - just one line. No loops, no curves, no slants, nothing fancy at all about it. Just a plain line.
3) And finally it is SO plain, you cannot even tell it apart from a capitol "i", or a divider line.
See... which one is the lowercase letter L? => I, I, or I ?

i have no idea why though...i remember wayy back in 1st grade we had these inflatable alphabet letters to help us learn the alphabet and each kid got to take a picture with the first letter of their name and my name is rachel so i was supposed to take my picture with the R but instead i had to beg them to let me take a picture with the letter E haha it was hilarious my mother always brings it up even today. so yeah im going to have to go with E on this one just because its extremely cool...
