Well, you cheated and asked two questions at once, but I'll give them both a try.
I think mankind is capable of great good, and I sure wish it would start living up to its potential. We have brains, we have souls, and we can do almost anything if it be our True Will. That some of us get seduced by the Dark Side is probably inevitable, but we must try to keep it to as few as possible.
And is there something more good than man? Yes, I believe in angels and I believe in the gods and goddesses that control the forces of nature. You can argue that they are merely metaphors, but that does not lessen their value or their power one whit. If an angel is a metaphor for a force we do not know how to name, then it is that un-named force I trust as superior to mankind. And the same with gods and goddesses.

I guess I'm kinda a pessimist, but I think that mankind will eventually kill itself. I mean technology, global warming, how can anyone stop these things or do something about them? I honestly believe nobody will do anything. The future will tell the rest. Hopefully I won't be around to see it. It's strange you mention this. I am currently working on a series of paintings dealing with this issue. It's a hard one.

Man can do alot of good, and bad.

The only 'thing' that is more good than man is ....God !
The problem is that there is also the devil....the fallen angels that deceive mankind !
