in the near end of charlie and the chocolate factory (2005), the narrator said "and best of all, willy wonka had a family." why did he stay with the buckets and charlie instead of with his dad that he made up with?

Funny...I've read that book dozens of times, and never seen a single reference to Willy Wonka's father. Really, really BAD idea, Tim Burton...!
