Anything can happen in baseball. The Cubs have many holes and problems on their rosters to fill.

Can their starting pitching stay healthy? Mark Prior needs to pitch a full season making 32-35 starts. Kerry Wood? He might not be a starter ever again, and may consider a move to the bullpen.

Hitting, they have many holes to fill now that Ramariez is a free agent. They need to get protection for Derrek Lee. They need another power bat, a guy wgo can bat in the middle of their lineup. Juan Pierre is a free agent, therefore they need to acquire a new CF or resign him. They need a new 2B after they trade Todd Walker.

Bullpen wise, there middle relief seems good with Howry and Erye. Dempster was shaky in 06, which makes me wonder if his 2005 season was a fluke. They need bullpen depth and they do not have it.

Their bench needs depth also, so they must improve in that area.

Look at their 2003 club. They had one of the best , if not, best starting rotation that year with Mark Prior, Kerry Wood, Carlos Zambrano and Matt Clement. They made the playoffs that year. Mostly it will determine on the health of Mark Prior and if they add a solid starter, and with improvements they make in the offseason.

Fcuk no. He will go down in history as the manager of the Cubs when they went 100 seasons without a world series title. Jeopardy is already getting that answer ready for the show.

Didn't they break the curse when they blew up the Bartman ball? Oh, no wait, they broke it when they made pasta sauce out of the blown up ball the next year.

Cubs fans suck.
