I am a 15 year old girl, 5'6", about to begin wrestling at 103. I will be wrestling on my team for practice, as well as in competitions, and I don't want to be totally owned. I'm pretty fit but not muscular in the upper body, how heavy should my free weights be and what sort of exercises do I need to do to build triceps, biceps and deltoids? Thanks!

I never wrestled, but I knew plenty who do and did. Really, you have to be in outstanding shape for that sport. Your whole body must be strong and you have to have GREAT cardio conditioning. Run for distance and do sprints and jump rope to build up your wind.

Upper body strenght is very important. If you want to add muscle, then you should lift heavier weights to build mass. Bench presses, curls, pull-ups, pull downs, curls, dips, dumbell flyes, tricep kickbacks are all great exercises for your upper body muscles. Do LOTS of push-ups too. They are great for all of your upper body muscles.

Don't neglect your legs either. Squats, lunges, and leg presses will help with that.

Also, don't forget your abs and core muscles. They help with balance and overall power. Put together a good situp/crunch routine along with other exercises like leg lifts and planks to build strength in you stomach.

Good luck!

becoming a member of your institution wrestling crew is step one. You could honestly wanna speak to the teach approximately what you'll do to get in a position for it. After that, you'll both retain to institution or readily discover a wrestling institution to wait. After that it is only a question of wrestling within the proper situation on the proper time.

Do much weights and do your wrestling training against boys, that way you'll improve the most.

it doesn't matter how your body is as long as your skills are up to the challenge.
