I believe that God created evolution. Therefore, I believe in creationism. Things evolve, but as far as man coming from beast, no way!

I can not " believe " that this question is still being posted. I assume that you mean evolution by natural selection. This is a theory that is supported by mountains of evidence and has great predictive power. Creationism is the "revealed " word which has no evidence to support it and could not predict next Tuesday. So, it does not matter what I believe; the truth does not care about my beliefs and the truth is true, whether I believe it ,or not.

From patti_felz: "Evolution. The only creationism is that man created God." Best line yet!
While evolution may be a theory, it has evidence to support it's findings, whereas, in creationism there is no proof. All the answers I'm reading here are just trying to discredit the evidence of evolution... Not one answer so far has shown any evidence of creationism to back it up. Where's the proof? What? I know what you're gonna say...
"God works in mysterious ways" "You'll meet him in heaven" Blah blah blah...
Another thing... creationism and "intelligent design theory" is a political load of crap that's trying to weasle their way into our education system.
Throughout history, there has been more than enough blood shedded in the name of God than anything else in the world. Give it a rest. Be an atheist.

Creationism with micro evolution or adaptaion. Macro Evolution says you get a man out of a monkey. Micro Evolution says you can get a poodle out of a wolf BUT it is still a dog, it didn't end up with feathers and laying eggs.

I study biology and frequently come across evidence of evolution.
I thoroughly reject the political doctrine called "Scientific" Creationism and laugh at its selective use of evidence, its empty rhetoric, and the outright lies of some of its proponents.
As for the simple doctrine of Creationism -- "God created the universe" -- I favor it and lament that it is scientifically unprovable, by definition. Evolution has nothing to do with belief, or proper Creationism, so your either/or question is loaded.

Both. God created evolution. I am not a literalist, so I don't believe that the earth was actually created in 7 days. Maybe 7 of God's days. Nobody knows how long a day is to God.
By the way, Evolution is NOT a proven fact. That is why this is an unresolved topic. Evolution, just like creation, is a THEORY. Neither can be proven in absolution.

Evolution. Someone asked why apes are still around, even though humans evolved from apes? Six million years ago, chimps split into two groups. One stayed in the forest, and although it split again into bonobos and chimps 3 million years ago, the overall design did not need to change. There was no pressure to force rapid evolution.
The second group went out onto the plains of Africa and suddenly had to learn to cooperate, outsmart lions and travel quickly over open ground. Result: badass smart chimps that can run while standing upright. Lost fur to lose heat more efficiently, for faster running. There is a theory that humans had ancestors that were endurance hunters; just walk behind a gnu or wildebeast until it overheats in the African sun and sprint in for the kill.
Its simple: all the slowest and stupidest chimp-like ancestors got eaten, starved, or failed to attract a mate. The smarter and faster ones invented fire, clubs, copper, iron, art, science, Yahoo etc.
You should read this:

And this is just a good general diagram of the entire primate lineage:

With evolution, it's not a belief...it's pretty close to fact, still technically a theory, though. I don't know how people can blatantly deny something with so much evidence. I'd hate to see them in a jury...murderers would be running free all the time.
I balance both in my mind. I think that God definately kicked off the universe, but he made everything capable of changing, living, and reproducing on its own. Things did evolve, there's no doubt about it...but as to WHY they do evolve and how everything got here in the first place, that's where God comes in. In my mind, anyway...

The evidence for supporting evolution is overwhelming. Anybody that says otherwise hasn't studied it at the college level. There are holes in it that need to be explained though
How do you go from unorganized matter to a functional single cell?
There are some good theories but it's a stretch.
Evolution from a single cell to the diversity of life that we see today is actually easily explained and follows a very logical progression.
