Parabens are considered to be safe because of their low toxicity profile and their long history of safe use; however, a few recent controversial studies have begun to challenge this view. Still studies in rodents indicate that parabens are practically non-toxic.Parabens are rapidly absorbed, metabolized, and excreted. The parabens in mineral veil are minimal and should not be of any concern.

However, being a long time user of Bare Escentuals I have found that since MV is almost completely cornstarch......I prefer to save myself the $20 by mixing a little warmth in cornstarch and blend--voila! paraben free mineral veil at about 1/10 the cost! You can use rice flour as a finishing powder too-just use a little warmth so it's not completely white.
