My parents were blue collar workers. My Dad (RIP) was an assembler for a machine company until he died of a heart attack at age 48. My Mom retired from the bowling alley snack bar several years ago.

My Dad was a professional percussionist in the Detroit area. He would play for any of the big acts that would come through.
Mom is an Orchestra teacher for a local public school district.

Maman was lead operator in a factory, and a union steward.
Daddy was a mechanic at the Ford garage for nearly 30 years then worked for an International Harvester place. (Started at age 11, 1922!) He retired from a trampoline manufacturer with a patent for a special tool he created for them. (He also was one of the first to create a process to print labels onto cans, with J.L. Whitehurst of Minneapolis)
Both died in the 70s...1975, 1976. She had cancer, he had pneumonia and heart failure.

Mom sold Mary Kay Cometics and was a homemaker
