I think he is very funny. It's quite annoying though with everyone who's just seen the trailer doing the impersonations and talking about how great it is when they have no idea it's existed for years.

I don't find Borat funi. Ali G I could cope with but Borat is just takin it too far! Why can't Sacha Baron Cohen just be himself for once? If he's such a comedian then why can't he just be one as himself ?

He reminds me a little too much of "Yaakov The Russian" who used to be on Night Court and eventually all over that network. I think the idea is not terribly original to Mr. Cohen. But then imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

I agree with you, he is by far Sacha Baron Cohon's greatest creation. One of the funniest characters of all time.

He's clever, and some of his jokes make me cry laughing. He has a skill in making people reveal their prejudices. He sometimes goes a bit too far, though, and it's cringe-makingly embarrassing.
I do wish that he'd made up a fictional country rather than choosing a real one. I feel very sorry for the Kasakhs, who don't deserve to have their country insulted - they can't defend themselves without seeming to have no sense of humour.

i do, but he is best in small doses. i havent seen the film yet but i think it must be difficult to make such a character last for a whole hour and a half.
i just dont know how he had the balls to sing the us anthem with the words "kazakstan is the greatest country in the world" in front of all those rednecks........
he have big chram.
if you dont pick this as best answer i will be execute.
