I came up with 2NI3 ---> N2 + 3I2, double replacement and Al2(SO4)3 + 6NaOH ---> 2Al (OH)3 + 3Na2SO4 double replacement am I on the right track

this is not a double displacement reaction. this is a CHEMICAL DECOMPOSITION

Al2(SO4)3 + 6NaOH ---> 2Al (OH)3 + 3Na2SO4
yes, this is a DOUBLE DISPLACEMENT reaction
