i know i probably am but i'm having this argument with this guy who is really good at sports and i'm really good at everything academic. i am fully aware that nfl, nba, etc. players make millions. do you all know of any good rebuttles to the argument that athletes make more money that scientists or jobs like that? (even if i'm wrong lol anyway to make it seem that i'm right?)

In general, sorry, pro athletes make more money. However, scientists can earn big royalties on inventions or written works. Nobel prize winners get some ridiculous sum of money with their award ($1,120,000 in 1996). And, scientists get more in job satisfaction and helping the world than athletes.

i would say that athletes do make more money than scientist,but not more than Oprah lol cause alot of the athletes now are making millions and millions of $$$$....and even more with them making commercials and all that... so yes i think they do make more money

Actually there is no job specification for the bigger bucks. Only those who make it to the top makes the big $$$, while others who struggle thru on the same field earn less.

your right brainiacs should make more but we live in a very plastic world I'm not saying athletes should not make good or mad cheddar . their careers can be very short . but as long as we are willing to pay $100 to see a game its not going to change WAKE UP PEOPLE

ask him how many people can hit a curve ball. that's why those athletes make such big money. however, if you study hard, you too can be an astronomer or a doctor or whatever
