When I'm around my friends or my family I'm not shy at all. I can laugh and have fun. But when I'm around people that I'm not really friends with I'm kind of shy. And people who aren't my friends always say to me "how come your so shy?". And I don't know what to say, and also I don't want to be shy. I don't get why I am. Please help! Thanks!

sometimes that's how i am..when i'm with total strangers, i'm shy and often mistaked for being naiiv or shy.. but when i'm with my friends at my old town, i LMAO...
sometimes it takes time..you just have to speak here and there and smile =D *like this*

I was the EXACT same way. I met a guy who told me that every time I answered a question , I had to say at least 3 words. This actually worked. It got me thinking of more things to say when answering people, and this helped in other conversation as well. Just remember that no one will think you are silly if you don't say the exact right thing. Thats what I always worried about....I didn't want to look "stupid". I am still shy in certain situations, but for the most part this cured me!...Give it a try!

It may take you a while to open up to people and to be outgoing towards people you don't really know. Just try talking to more people and making new friends.

i was the same way dude. but a very cool (not popular cool, but friends with everyone cool) said to open up and try not to impress anybody but pretend that you already know them, i can't help you when it comes to the ladies.

yea - me 2!!! With mi friends at school, I act all drunk and stuff! AS a joke!! And like scream and act really like me!! But, around other ppl, i am shy! Like when starting a new school. just - like - just don't be and start convo! I do dat! dats how i fot popular...
