i am 32 years old (never been pregnant)--was on the pill at the age of 14, but went off it about 7 years ago--have never really been "regular"--only have a period about every 3 months--anyone have an idea why!!??

I would have your blood levels checked for the different hormones involved with periods. It could be a hormonal imbalance. This is the most common. If you want a normal cycle they doctors can put you on hormones that would make your body operate on a normal cycle. It could also be Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome which a lot more women are developing due to external pollutions, obesity and other factors. Bottom line go the the gyno or the endocrinologist if you want a definitive answer.

I'm also 32 and have been on the pill since about 1998. Stress can be a factor in irregular periods but it's best to see a good gynecologist to sort this stuff out.

Hi. You were on the pill a long time - eleven years. Your body doesn't know it is time to menstruate. especally when you stop taking the pill right afterward this will happen. It happened with me. I went on the pill at 16 and had irregular periods for a long time after I stopped taking them. If I were you I'd go to a gynecologist. They know how to help this.
