Its pretty easy to suss out whether us blokes like a girl, were not exactly subtle as we stare across the crowded room, and then its straight over to offer you a drink, as if thats the opening to our first conversation. This is shortly followed by "do you want to dance"?
Its a bit different in the workplace of course, no bar or music forces a slightly more subtle approach. You can always count on us telling you our new joke first, making you tea till its overflowing always being at the photo copier when you are about to bend over it(not so subtle) and generally being close throughout the day. Also, making sure that you dont see us spending too much time with other female members of staff, incase you think we like them more.
Yes, its fair to say, us fellas can be read like a book, too obvious, too close and too cocky

Anyone who works in obstetrics will tell you that the name on a birth certificate is purely an issue of convenience for the mother. Frequently, hospitals will have blood type information for the listed father and of course the new born. It becomes abundantly obvious that the mother is lying - but they won't correct her. That being said, I am unaware of any statistical data showing one way or the other. If I had to make a guess, the level of cheating is most dependent on opportunity. "Taken" men would have had more opportunity in the past by being out of the house more, but obviously women have essentially completely caught up on that (in the West) so we really are in a place where we can do a fair comparison within the last 10 years. As to the "Women are more likely to lie about it", it actually makes more sense if you look at it historically. It's much more serious if a woman cheats than if a guy cheats. Why? If a guy cheats, he's not going to get pregnant and have to explain where the kid came from. If a woman cheats, she might have to explain where the kid comes from and you'd better believe she's going to try very hard to make her "accepted" partner believe it is his.

There are several I can think of. I usually check the pupils, the larger the more attracted he is to you. If he shows his palms or wrists a lot, or puts his hand behind his neck to rub it, that's generally considered a universal sign of being harmless people use when they're interested in someone. Making excuses to touch you is also good example of attraction. Another is checking which way his feet are facing.. and if you're sitting down at a table.. how close his feet are to you.. how close he stands to you.. Generally, if someone is touching features that might otherwise be considered attractive (playing with the hair for girls). Even making eye contact and looking away can be a subconscious way of flirting depending on the context.

One thing to look at is his feet. A lot of people have been conditioned to control other forms of body language that express interest but a majority of people overlook the feet. If the feet are pointed out he's probably interested, if theyre straight ahead or turned inwards he probably isn't.

He stares longer at you than he used to. Positions his body so he is facing you (ie if you walk into his office, he'll turn his chair to talk to you). He might lean forward on his elbows (showing his eagerness to talk to you). And don't forget the flirting!

Pulling you into an embrace and smothering you with kisses is probably a reasonable indicator.
P.S. Who's the truly lame person who gave me a thumbs down? C'mon, fess up. Coward.

You mean besides his eyes getting bigger?!? (Oh, OK, they only bug out in cartoons... but remember that one's pupils get bigger when looking at something you like.)
Nodding, smiling, mirroring the woman's body language (e.g. she tilts her head and he tilts his head).

There is no mistaking it...it's eye contact, in addition to him leaning in to you, wanting to be where you are, making excuses to see you and talk to you...

He will pay lots of attention to you, and if you look round suddenly you'll usually find him looking at your bum and smiling.

His eyes pop out of the socket and his pupils come off of his eyeballs, he's suspended in mid-air, his tongue comes out of his mouth and touches the ground. Hearts circle his head.
