I have a cleaning business in Tallahassee Fl. I have done alot of advertising, such as professional flyer, mini mint ads, and word of mouth. I have got some response from it but not as much as I would have liked. How can I get my business noticed? What are some other good adverising ideas?

There are options online. I know yahoo has a small business section you can look into. It's all about the newspaper too! Make your advertising "pop" have a good statement phrase that catches peoples eyes. Don't be afraid to go to local restaurants and have a "drawing for a free cleaning" for people who put their business cards in. Get out there, there are people interested, you just have to get their attention. Good luck!

The postings above this are all good ideas. In fact, you may want to offer your previous clients a discount on future business or a plain $25 cash for any new clients that they refer to you. Not only is the customer getting a rave review, but you've added a salesperson at no charge.

By doing that, you're also a hero to your previous client, because you're giving him money, or saving him money.

Also, you may want to see if there's a listing for a city near you for http://craigslist.org . If there is, you can post to the small business ads. These are quite effective.

Good luck, I hope this helps.

Those are all good ways to get your business...out there. You could go into chatrooms from your town and advertise it that way. I have a internet business and I've advertised many different ways on the internet / in chatrooms and specialized areas. My new business is: thebestbuyemporium.com. I sell
all kinds of items and have success in putting the name out there. Once someone tries it out, they seem to come back. That could be an answer for you. If you could advertise on the internet and specifically in your own area, it would get you noticed. Good Luck!

Unless you know your target market and which medium is most effective, Stop wasting your money on ads for now. Find out what your target market is. Do you clean offices, institutions, homes? Find a niche, do something others in your field don't do.Go to high profile businesses that would use your services and sell your service. Go and physically knock on doors and introduce yourself, try to see the person who makes decisions on obtaining you service. Give them a card and flyer. Market yourself using you. Give value for the price you charge, give the customer their moneys worth. Give discounts to existing customers and ask for referrals.

Build a website for less than $10 per month and promote and advertise it and gain a larger customer base.

Look up http://www.excelyourbiz.com
to learn how to build awebsite on your own without the high cost of paying for a webmaster. They offer advice and guide you through the steps to build your very own web site.Basic computer skills are needed and you don't need to be a computer whiz to build your own website.

I think you might have to be patient and wait, once you get a couple of regular customers then your business can get noticed. By having a couple of regular cusomers they can let others know about your cleaning business and your services will get around by word of mouth. Just be patient, I think it might take a while because it is really hard to get a good cleaning company and also to trust them. Im assuming you clean houses, if so, people dont want to let just any stranger in their home.

You can also start by offering "special rates" just because you are just starting. People will know about the rates and recommend you.

You can also advertise on myspace.

Yellow Pages, for a start. Ad in the local newspaper (some folks still read 'em). Radio, and if you can afford it, a TV ad (on public access, at least).
