I don't rate it as the best poem I have ever heard, but it's interesting nonetheless, and whoever wrote it, be it yourself or anyone else, I commend thee for thy wordsmithery.
Poetry is an artform and as such comes in many hues, and this short piece is strangely un-nicheable to my mind, which can only be a good thing!

No this is the best poem I've read
Prayer
Some days, although we cannot pray, a prayer
utters itself. So, a woman will lift
her head from the sieve of her hands and stare
at the minims sung by a tree, a sudden gift.
Some nights, although we are faithless, the truth
enters our hearts, that small familiar pain;
then a man will stand stock-still, hearing his youth
in the distant Latin chanting of a train.
Pray for us now. Grade 1 piano scales
console the lodger looking out across
a Midlands town. Then dusk, and someone calls
a child's name as though they named their loss.
Darkness outside. Inside, the radio's prayer -
Rockall. Malin. Dogger. Finisterre.

Is it Dark Blue?
Or is it Light ?
Does it fly in the wind to a fabulous height?
When the wind doesn't blow does it fall to the ground,
And get ripped to shreds by a very large hound?
Or does it fall in a field where the cows like to play
and get trampled about in the freshly mown hay.
Whatever it does i,ll bet 1-2 that this little ditty was written by you.

I am totally mesmerized. How could anyone seriously comply with your request. My Jersey cow actually wrote that poem squirting her milk onto the barn door and we were so proud of her we went right out and bought her a blue kite of her own.

It's good for a 5 year old. Honestly. It has symbolism and that is pretty astonishing for a child that young using written form.

It is not the best poem I ever heard but if my 4 year old (if I had one) had written it I would think it was.

It's not the best poem I've ever heard to be honest, but everyone has to start somewhere. Nurture that budding poet!
