Indeed it is fascinating!
Another thing I always thought was neat was the way some connective tissues of our bodies work. Bone, cartilage, elastic tissue, and many types of extracellular matrix that provides support for our organs work in the same way that cement does; a matrix of proteins filled with a sort of goop of compounds that holds it all together, just like a wire mesh filled with cement.
Perhaps even more interesting is the way our brains work like computers (or rather, the way computers work like our brains!). There are really only two positions a neuron can take: 'on' and 'off'. This is not unlike the binary code that processors use. Of course, brains are a lot more complex, and use a variety of messengers beyond just electrons.

Yes I do. I agree that it's fascinating and intreging that's probably why i am a biologist. But if you analyse many other things in this life, you'd realize that man has invented many things inspired by nature. The car company Pontiac (which is an affiliate of GM) inspires by animals to design their cars, if you look at the Grand Prix (model 1995-2004) it's inspired by the American Eagle, the Sunfire is inspired by the daulphin. Also many other phenomona, such the power plug and the power outlet, they call them male and female because of their resemblance of the male-female anatomical parts. Also, our connective tissues inspire (instinctively i believe) the way construction is done, such as cement.
Great analogy!

There are tons of natural phenomena that technology emulates, either out of instinct or intuition or out of scientific discovery.
The dome, the incline plane, levers... all that stuff existed before man discovered it, and it really is mind-blowing that we've managed to make so many of the natural rules of nature work to our advantage, and exploit 'tricks' with energy sources like light and gravity to make our lives easier and better.
