I read "Today our annual interest payment of more than $200 billion eats up every dollar of income tax paid by everyone living west of the Missisippi River."
I've also read that it's not a problem, that a debt for a nation is different from an individual debt. I don't get why it's not a problem. Sure seems like a problem to me. I've also read that it's a small percentage of the GNP so not to worry. But I worry.

No Way,
Really...You can do that right. Spend it all borrow more it is the only way...NOT!!!
Here's an Idea: Cut out the Retirement plan and 100% all paid medical for life on all politicans...Why in the hell do they have a retirement package anyway? I have one I have to contribute too..a 401K...they just get it..
I care alot about the wasteful spending of my tax dollars. Why is it when Clinton was in office the deficeit ticker goes down. 41 and 43 it has climbed and climbed. And dont say it is because Reagan did it. Please.
Wasteful spending is the norm for this government...Think what could have been done on the Gulf coast..but that is another ball of wax
And to hell with: NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND ACT!!!
Thanks

What did you expect from the current power in D. C.? It is time for Americans to study the candidates instead of voting along party lines.

Well, government could start by giving whoever is President
a line-item veto so legitimate bills could pass without all the
added pork costing taxpayers millions. Let's stop Secret
Service Security for president and his family after they are out
of office. Let's stop the ongoing lifetime salaries for all past
presidents, vice-presidents, senators, representatives, etc.
Let's quit funding the ACLU which (communist) organization
keeps changing our traditional values, lets quit funding Planned
Parenthood, and paying the expenses for women who abort
their babies, I could go on and on about where we (US) could
cut so we wouldn't have to borrow in the future.

Walmart must be happy, since China is bank-rolling most of our debt. Another great legacy to be left by our 43rd president.

I think most of us care... but the people who SHOULD care don't. Oh, wait, I thought the deficit was supposed to be cut in half-- around 200+BB. Hmmm, let's see they lied again

Our debt has risen to the point of my not even being able to comprehend it. I cannot imagine what a trillion is.

Who did they borrow it from, Halliburton? They are the ones that get all of our money.
