Contrary to some of the previous answers to this question, the Canadian men's team did, in fact, qualify for a FIFA World Cup tournament... but only once, in 1986. They were soon eliminated after losing the three group matches.
The Canadian women's team has had much more success, coming in fourth place in the 2003 Women's World Cup. However, they did not qualify for the 1991 edition of the World Cup, nor the 2000 and 2004 Summer Olympics. They also won the CONCACAF Women's Gold Cup in 1998.

CANADA did qualify for the 1986 FIFA World Cup finals in MEXICO. they, however lost all three group matches, failed to score a goal & conceded 5 goals.

they never made it but try it over and over... this year's fifa they were ranked at 71 i think...
