ok i have a wireless g addapeter for a pci card if that is installed and my regular nic is in and connected can i brodcast the signal out of the addapter and receve it with my laptop

of course you can i do the same thing home... you should ahve a wirless adapter (card) to receive the signals from your router

Nope. Adapter cards can only receive the signal. You need to get a wireless 'router' to route your signal packets...

not unless u have a wireless card in laptop that can recieve the signals from wirless router

Certainly, you can setup an ad hoc network between your laptop and the regular desktop. If you then enable Internet sharing, depending on the desktop OS, you can also get to the Internet from your laptop.
