The quieter the better. I'm not a fan of lawn contraptions that burn gasoline, roar loudly and otherwise pollute the environment. Don't even get me started on leaf blowers.
If I had the proper zoning, I'd set three or four sheep loose on my lawn and let them do all the work. The bucolic scene would quiet my nerves, and I wouldn't need to fertilize this winter.

I would rather rake the lawn, for the exercise and the experience of the smells and close up sights in the lawn. Raking makes it easier to find anthills or other problems in the lawn.

Neither. Just mow them up into a bag or mulch them.
Although, if you really want to get the leaves up off the yard, there's nothing like just the good old fashion "sweeping" the yard with a rake the old fashioned way. It's great exercise and nice to be out in the cool air.
We have a leaf blower, but I just HATE the god awful noise it makes. Raking can be a peaceful and pleasant autumn pleasure if you set your mind that way.....
What's nice, is that in my little burg we can still burn leaves. Nothing smells more like fall than quietly burning leaves.

I can't stand raking. You rake leaves, and at least half of them manage to escape. It's so tedious. I can't say I'm a fan of lawn mowing either. Thankfully, the HOA takes care of it for me.

I have to answer neither. 1. No hand raking for me! 2. No pushing anything.
I would ride in comfort while the monstrosity pushed itself! lol !!!!
