In many cases even proving you are not the father doesn't mean anything. In Washington, if you are married when the child is born, you have to pay child support when you get a divorce even if you aren't the fater. You can prove that it isn't yours, and still have to pay child support because you were married at the time. Also, if you get married to a single mother, help raise the child, then get a divorce, you still have to pay child support because you "acted" as the father. In both cases you can get out of child support once you prove who the real father is and force him to pay.
It may seem unfair, but you have to think about the kids. It is unfair to person paying for a kid that isn't theirs, but it does help the kid. The last thing the courts want is a kid who isn't provided for. they would rather screw a thousand adults before they screw one kid.

It depends on what you want to do. She will have to get a DNA test to prove you are the father before she can force you to pay child support. If you WANT to be the father, then cooperate with the DNA test. Sure it's legal for her to claim it's your kid. Years don't make a difference in paternity. Now if she tries to collect back child support, I think you'll have a good case against that. You didn't even know you had a child; why would you be paying child support. Frankly, it sounds to me like she's looking for a fast buck and just bouncing this off you to see how you'll respond.

Why should it matter if they're easy or not? When ANY person collects money from ANY other person under false pretenses, it should always be punished.
As for dna... who knows. I think if you're not married and want to put someone on the birth certificate you should have to get a dna test first.

I could not get child support until a DNA test was performed on my son and his father. They insisted on the test even though he is the father and his name was on the birth certificate. He carries his father's last name and always has. I wish it had been done at birth to avoid the trauma this caused in our lives.

I don't know where you're from, but before child support is paid here, proof by means of dna is collected. If the man is stupid enough to pay without proof of being the father, it's his own fault.

So if there is any question (and if you are going to pay child support for 18 years, there should be), get the paternity test.
Otherwise, if you find out the woman deceived you, take her to court to repay the child support and then bring criminal charges up for fraud and/or felony theft by deception. That could provide substantial jail time.
"In Little Rock, the owner of JC Affordable Homes was sentenced to 12 years in prison, after pleading guilty to felony theft by deception. "

If htey are found guilty of fraud they should be made to pay back the man in installments. I understand that this is frustrating, however, I don't think that the child should be made to suffer because his momma is an idiot. I think that DNA testing at birth, while functional if you are supposed to be in a committed relationship and you have found yourself in a not so committed one, might be concidered an invasion of privacy.

in tennessee you can't collect child support until you prove he is the father with a DNA test. if he is the father he not only has to pay the child support but he has to pay for the test, the court costs and lawyer fee's. if he is not then she has to pay. they question you should have asked long ago is ....do i want to sleep with an easy woman unprotected!

If the "easy woman" knows a certain guy is not her
baby's father, then she doesn't deserve to collect
anything from him. If you walk through a rose garden,
you don't know which rose pricked you (if you see what
I mean).
