That after a woman has had a hysterectomy, she will still experience menstrual-like cramps from time to time. What would cause that?

I think it depends on if you have a full hysterectomy or partial. My mom had a partial and she still has issues with menopause and she does get cramping.

Do to the fact that my mother was given DES while pregnant I had to have hysterectomy at the age of 19. I never had any problems after that with any period like cramps. I am now 48.

That shouldn't be the case. You can still have other problems in that area of the gut which may cause cramping pain, but if the uterus is gone, there's nothing left to cause menstrual-type cramps.

you get cramps every month all the time!
