It would help if you provided more information eg state how you connect to the internet...wired modem or router or modem router.
People are not going to give the best solutions to something so vague.
If you use a modem router try this for starters...unplug it from the mains, wait 10 seconds & then plug it back into the mains. Wait another 10 seconds & try accessing the internet again

what this message means is that your ethernet cable is not pluged into the network socket correctly, its as simple as that
look at the back of your p.c and below the 2 ps2 sockets(for mouse and keyboard) next to 2 x usb sockets, they could also be in a spare pci slot ,in that case it will be near the bottom of the back of your p.c
ethernet leads are very sesetive so even if its slightly out it will bring up this message
it would also be a good idea to check 1)the ethernet connection in the router and 2 the router itself
try a router reset by turning your router off for 30 seconds and then turning it back on(it may take a while to reconfigure itself, depending on model) and then give it another go
my bet is that your cable is loose
good luck

What kind of connection do you use? I presume it is DSL broadband. If you use an USB modem it means it has not been recognized by your operating system and your OS "thinks" it is not plugged. To resolve that, you need the drivers for your USB modem. Check the brand of a modem (e.g. Siemens) and then go to the manufactures webpage where you probably can download an appropriate driver for your OS. If that doesn't help, contact your ISP technical support.

use the wire that you are using now and plug it into the other computer. Then you will know for sure if it is the computer or not. I am thinking that you need to just make sure the network wire is plugged in completely into the failing machine.
