All pregnancy tests have the same hormonal strip in them. You pay for the brand name. Visit peeonastick.com for more, and very accurate, information. It is possible that you are pregnant but not producing enough of the hormone yet to get a positive result. You may want to go to the health department and have a blood test done.

well I have had 4 babies and sometimes still think I might be although I have an IUD. I take a test every few months just to make sure I am not so there is no eggs forming where they are not supposed to be. I never am. i think all tests are pretty accurate some off/generic brands are actually made by the name brands. 6 days late is a bit early for all the signs and symptoms. Although any time is possible two weeks after is the norm that ob gyms claim is optimal time. I would go for a blood test those are most accurate.

6 days late isn't all that late according to your hormones. Each kind of pregnancy tests detects HCG (preganancy hormone) at different levels. My fertility Dr. told me to get First Response--it has fewer false negatives because it detects a lower level of HCG. If you want a 99% test though, you need to get a blood draw at the Dr.'s, it is the most accurate. Hope this helps.
P.S. I know the dollar store ovulation tests do not work as well as the name brand test.

The dollar store brand worked for me. I know because they were negative a few days ago, but the last 3 have been +!
Don't worry about wasting your $ on the expensive brands. The difference is similar to buying shasta instead of coca cola.

A friend of mine took one of those and it was the ONLY one that came out positive and she was pregnant. She always joked that her boyfriend could have taken it and it would have come out positive. However, you may want to try another brand. Usually, if you go to Wal-Mart you can get an EPT, box of 2 for 9.99. It's like I always say, if you can't afford the test, you can't afford the kid that follows.

I got a positive on a Dollar Store test before I even missed my period. I think they are all the same. You might still be too early on any test. Everyone is different.

Stress can be delaying your cycle-and you seem stressed. Any test can be wrong I was pregnant and EPT was negative, finally went to the Doc thinking I had the flu but blood test proved I had a different type of "infection". See a Dr-just to be sure. Good Luck!

It never ceases to amaze me how many times I've answered this question...prolly 20 times or so, on this website in the past, so here goes..........
All pregnancy tests work by detecting HCG in your urine. You CAN be pregnant and not have enough HCG to turn one positive. The definitive blood test is one your doctor can do called a Beta Quantitative Analysis. It will tell you positively if you are pregnant or not.
