I don't follow contemporary rock and pop, though I am a fan of 60s and 70s rock (e.g. Beatles, Bob Dylan). For many years now I've mainly listened to classical music, world music and a bit of jazz & folk. However I do really like Coldplay. Who do you recommend I try? I don't really like my rock screamy. I like good voices, lyrics and tunes.

There is a band called Leaves who are very much like Coldplay. Not sure if they're still going. You could try Keane as well.

You might also care to lend an ear to the two classic Radiohead albums (Bends and OK Computer) - current bands you might enjoy include Keane, Snow Patrol, Mumm Ra, Duke Special, I Am Kloot, Sparklehorse, Grandaddy, solo artists try David Kitt, Jackie Leven, Boo Hewardine, Ryan (not Bryan) Adams and Richard Hawley.... older bands you might look out include Teenage Fanclub, The Fat Lady Sings and The Bible. You might like Bob Dylan's son's band The Wallflowers as well

radiohead. if you're really looking for less difficult songs try anything of theirs from OK Computer and earlier.

also i definitely recommend Porcupine Tree. i cant stress this band enough, especially if you are into older music. (they are not old). try the songs "Shesmovedon" and "Trains". actually, you'll go well with Any of their stuff.

edit - the band Blackfield is also very good and has similiar tones to coldplay. any song by them will do

Try Snow Patrol and Zutons, not exactly rocky but similar genre to coldplay, kinda easy indie/light rock I guess. Wasn't a fan of Snow Patrol's earlier stuff but i love their latest stuff.

The Kooks and Keane. Tom Chaplin (singer with Keane) has the most amazing voice.
