Hi Honey,
First of all I want to tell you how sorry I am about your miscarriage. I have no idea how far along you were but I do know that at any stage it is a sad thing to have to go thru.
Bleeding after a miscarriage can last anywhere from a few days to a few weeks. You are at the far end of what is considered normal. Sometimes bleeding continues because you have had what is called an "incomplete" miscarriage. That just means that there may be some little bits of tissue that have not been expelled on their own. When this happens you need to have a D&C so that healing can finish. I do not think that this is the case with you tho because if it were you would be having heavier bleeding than what it sounds like you are experiencing.
Has the doctor done any blood work to make sure that the hormones of pregnancy are back to zero? That is something that he may want to do.
I would wait 4 or 5 more days and if you are still spotting I would call the doctor and share your concerns with him. Of course you can call him right away if it would make you feel better.
Generally speaking if the bleeding gets lighter and lighter ( as opposed to heavier) and if the pain is less and less, your body is healing and everything is fine. Every woman and every pregnancy is different. Be gentle with yourself, nourish and nurture yourself. Get plenty of rest and know that this time will pass. If this was a wanted baby know that as your body heals it will prepare for another baby and it will bloom with life when the time is right. Spend time with people that love you. You need that right now.
Bless you honey and if there is anything I forgot to address please feel free to write to me, I am happy to help.
Love and Blessings
Lady T~

I know that this is a horrible time for you and you just want it over with. My prayers are with you.
It is possible to have bleeding for the same length of time as if you had carried to term and delivered. So 4 to 6 weeks is a real possiblity, depending on how far along you were with the pregnancy. If you are having any pain, abdominal swelling, strange or foul odor with the bleeding then get it checked right away. Otherwise you pretty much have to wait for you body to reset your menstral cycles. Once that happens you should be back to normal.
Thoughts and prayers are with you, best of luck

It is possible to bleed in the first trimester of pregnancy but to be honest if I were you I would go to the Doctor to get checked out! This way it will be confirmed either way! I am not sure how long the pregnancy hormone stays in your system after a miscarrige. But it does sound hopeful! But I would advise that you go the Doctor to get checked out because being stressed out and worried isnt healthy for you and your baby if you are still pregnant! Hope this helped a little... Best of Luck!

When I miscarried the 1st time, I bled forever...It was EMBARRASSING! When I finally thought I was done, We went to go out to dinner, and it happened all over again, only it was like the 1st couple of days....massive amounts. It happened again a couple months later. My doctor said my body was just cleaning itself out. I think it is going to be different for all women. I wouldn't worry to much unless the big clots start coming again.

ask for a D&C . the doc will clean you out. I had that done after my miscarriage.
Hope your feeling better.
I know that this must be an emotional time for you. You are still suceptible to post-partum depression. So take care of yourself emotionaly also.
