I was on Orth Tri Cyclen Lo, and then switched to the Paraguard IUD (10 yr). I had it inserted a week before I was supposed to start my period via the pills. I bled for only a couple of days after insertion, and now I'm realizing that I haven't had my period since a month before the IUD was inserted. Lately I've had a lot of mucusy discharge (TMD...sorry), and I'm wondering what the heck's going on. I know I could go to a Dr., but I wanted to see if anyone had the same type of thing. The IUD was inserted on 10/10/06...when do you think I'll get my period? Thanks!!

its going to take a year until you know how your period will be. I would wait until your follow up wich should be in a a week or to being that it was put in 10/10.

I've heard some discharge is normal (I've been considering an IUD for awhile now). You may want to be screened for vaginosis - some bacteria could have been introduced during insertion of the IUD. Definitely check with the doctor who performed the insertion, though.

Cant tell you when you'll get your period, my mother occasionally missed periods while she had her IUD.

*sigh*

Your Doctor is smarter and more educated than anyone posting on these boards. Your condition could be caused be any number of different things. Asking people on the internet to diagnose your menstrual problems is not a smart thing to do.
