For crying out loud, I'm the one getting violated here now. Without even a kiss.

I think they should actually read the violations, instead of just automatically deleting questions and answers. There is a lot revenge reporting around here, and they should really put a stop to it.

Yahoo has already figured this out and is trying to solve this problem. Myself and many other 200-something-odd people have already posted comments to them on this subject. Yahoo recognizes this and is trying to fix it from trolls abusing the report system. I can understand where you're coming from. I was reported for answering a question a month ago, and not to mention my other 14 violations. I don't think Yahoo should tell you who reported you. Only because it will come back to bite you in the butt in the end. If you reported someone for posting vile stuff, then in return Yahoo would notify those people that YOU reported them, and you would probably get harassed in the end. These trolls are very smart, they will try to make all our lives miserable. I was stalked several times. Giving out the information is invasion of privacy. Just suck it up and go on like nothing has happened. I can understand that many don't want 30 or 50 points deducted, and it is unfair ... but what can we do? And I'll probably get reported for this also.

Yes I do. I say yes because I'm annoyed that I got 3 violation emails today for some answers I gave that were fine, not in any way rude or offensive! Only thing is though there are genuine times when we do need to report the sickos you see on here. The best thing would be for Yahoo to actually read what is being complained about before sending out violation emails.

I can see where your comming from, but some people are just down right rude and spitefull, I would hate someone who I had reprted in the past to start salking me FOR reporting them.
It's all in the privacy statement.
I got violate two days ago for a resolved question I asked TWO MONTHS ago.
They didn't have to tell who it was, I already know, some girl who was pissed because she didn't like what I said, couldn't report me because it didn't go against anything, so she was being COMPLETELY spitefull, oh well, Life goes on, suck it up cupcake and drive on.
I feel ya though, it's agrivating, just know, I havn't reported you, NEVER!!!!

I got a violation notice, and under the reason for it were some weird looking words I suspected were Italian, and I THINK it said, "Violation of the user agreement" but I can't be sure. I figured some poor mope in Italy was offended, but I can't imagine why....lol.

That would create lots of problems, in the other hand some will stop trying to violate if they know they will be noticed. But that does not stop someone else creating a fake account.

No. I only reported one person one time who really offended me. Even though I knew the report would be anonymous, I was afraid that he would find out it was me and personally attack me on the Internet. Send me a virus, slander me, I don't know. Now, I realize that he couldn't have done anything, but at the time I was really worried. I mean, he was REALLY offensive towards me.

I do wonder how closely yahoo follows people who do report because, from comments like yours and others I've seen, it seems like some people do it excessively.

That would cause too much hate and discontent. It's bad enough the way it is now. The problen is if someone doesn't like your outlook on life they will report you and since yahoo doesn't look if the question is good or not they just delete it and take your 10 points. Very unfair.

does it really matter? If someone honks a horn at you do you chase them and start screaming and yelling? I think they are trying to avoid people reciprocating for something as minor. It is really quite silly to be offended. Everyone has an opinion and just because they are offended by something you may have said or done does not give you the right to know who they are unless they feel it is necessary for you to know. When it happens to me, I just laugh it off, just like the person who chases after me in their car. How childish and petty some people can be.

Nope. I wouldn't even mind if somebody violated me and I didn't know who it was. They even already practically tell you who did that my e-mailing you back the question, and also I like anything classified...^_^
