I'm expecting a baby and my husband & I have decided to not find out if it is a boy or a girl until the baby is born. I do not like referring to "the baby", "it" or "he/she". Ideas/suggestions for cute nicknames for the baby until he or she is born? (See how annoying it is?)

I called mine "Pooh" like pooh bear. Or you could go with Boo like from Monsters, Inc. I love the suggestions of Peanut, Bean, and Munchkin.

My sister-n-law would upchuck all the time (bad morning sickness), so they called the baby "Chuck Norris" even after they found out she was having a girl! But they are cooky like that.

Congrats and best of luck to you!

My husband and I just had our second child and we were in the same situation, so what we did was pick out a boys name and a girls name--both of which started with a "J". So we called the unborn child, "Baby J". Take care and best of luck!!!

How about Pat? It works for a boy or a girl, and you can have fun with "Pat the baby!"

Or, Bun or Bunny (for bun in the oven).

I was watching this special on TV once about the 9/11 families and one of them nicknamed their baby BEAN. I thought it was cute!! They even kept calling him bean after he was born!!

Good decision. Usually doctors wont let people leave the hospital with their baby, until they name it. But you want temp nick name ideas, which might end up being permanent nick names? If it is a girl, I suggest Dolly, Lumpkin, Princess, Bunny, Kitty, seedling.
If it's a boy- Pumpkin, Lumpy, Puppy, Seedling, Junior, Prince.

Jelly Bean (or just Bean)
Peanut
Bun (as in bun in the oven)
Sweet Pea

My daughter is 3 months old and I still call her Sweet Pea and my husband still calls her Peanut.
