Generationally and in career terms, they missed each other coming and going.

Duke Wayne made the bulk of his "legend" films between 1939 and 1964.

Eastwood's career didn't really take off until he quit series TV and went to Europe to do the spaghetti westerns in the mid sixties.

To say they never made films together is like saying Kirk Douglas and Ben Affleck were never in films together. The dates and career trajectories for such a match would have been all wrong.

they hated each other thats why they never did movies together and thats why clint eastwood never mentioned him in his movie flags of our father because john wayne was in the original movie

They respected each other. There was no hate among them. They didn't hang together but when they met years ago they were nice to each other.

well pilgrim they made different types of westerns but i notice clint used pilgrim in the movie outlaw josey wales when he said so you say those horses belong to them there pilgrims
