The Simpsons is one of the best shows of all time. It's amazing that it has been on almost 20 years and it's still funny. It started out as little clips of the family on the Tracey Ullman Show in the ealy days of the Fox network. Very few shows have lasted that long. Family Guy is good, but it's basically an imitation of the Simpsons. I think most of us know people who are like Homer, Barney, Ned Flanders, Rev. Lovejoy, etc.

I love The Simpsons! Not sure i know anyone like any of the characters tho nor do i really relate. i do relate sometimes to some of the things going on, but not on a regular basis.

yeah man the simpsons are quality my street is just like it u can point out certain people to relate to the characters i love watching the simpsons for all the jokes that are way over the kids heads and they look at u and ask what your laughing at

I love The Simpsons! Since way back when the were just short clips on the Tracy Ullman show.
I've met many people who were much like the characters-the fat, dumb cop (Wiggums) the buttinski bookworm (Lisa) the teacher with repressed issues (Krabappel)....I could go on and on.
And I'm reminded of myself when I see Bart & Milhouse getting into mischief.

I don't watch much TV, and generally hate cartoons. It took me quite a few years to get into The Simpsons, but now I love them. I can relate to Marge, and Lisa, and Principal Skinner, and Flanders - there's a bit of all of them in me. It's so clever, on so many levels.. the film and song references are my era, I think. My kids can enjoy it without 'getting' the film/song jokes, it also goes over their heads when they talk about sex and show a train entering a tunnel and a volcano erupting. Also, the way they show emotions with just a tiny change to the drawing; my favourite is Homer's where the eye-dots are far apart, his vacant look. I loved Chief Wiggum singing 'Jamming' at the end of the dog/dope episode; the one where Homer goes back in time and makes changes; where he goes to the Land of Sweets..I could go on, and on, and on.. Fave Mafia joke:
"There's so-and-so. Fancy him showing his face after that incident down at the aquarium."
"I thought you said he was dead?"
"No, I said 'He's sleeping with the fishes.'"

I do! I got 17+ videos of pure Simpson's episodes. My friend Ryan reminds me of Krusty The Clown since he makes me laugh.

I used to like the Simpson when it started on the Tracey Ullman show .

Now if it is on I may watch it if nothing else is on

And no one reminds me of any of the characters

i really like the simpsons maybe because their so like my family. my dad is exactly like homer, the baldness, the weight, the dumbness and my little brother and siser are just like bart and lisa its like watching big brother in my house (oh except the simpsons have yellow skin, although the morning after my dads been drinking he's pretty yellow)
