Hiya ,
OK . I am 32 yrs old and I was born and raised on a farm..also earned an Assoc in Animal Biology . First , let me say I do certainly agree that should know the difference between a cow and a horse ..most of us learn that about age 4-5 ...So I'm not sure how old you are ..but I'd read more :)
Any animal has the potential to bite it just varies as to how bad or not its going to hurt ...and yes a cow can bite , but usually its in a rush to eat and misses the food , Cows are not aggressive unless you REALLY go there ( Bulls are a slightly diff story ) ...
More than likely , I agree it was a horse ...and yes horses can bite usually no more than some severe bruising and soreness is left behind and you live :) Any animal has the potential to be dangerous when cornered or surprised or rough housed with..
Most species of penguins by the way are Federally protected so the whole penguin thing is not going to work ..its not legal . And the only way it would be is if your are VERY wealthy and have the time for all the Federal , State , and your county's permission and pay for application and permit fees which just by it self be $ hundreds of $ ...then in some States as well you are required to have permission from your neighbors and carry liability insurance . What your are considering is very complex and its not like breeding dogs or planting roses ...I think this a really bad idea .
And eating , harrassing , poaching , hunting of any Federally and State protected specie is a Federal offense which you or your parents ( if your under 18 ) can get into alot , TON , of trouble . And shipping of any animal into or out from another country ( Africa ) would and is almost impossible ....Call your local airport sometime and ask how much is costs to ship 1 small dog under 30 lbs , from say ..your State to California ( SF ) for example .
I moved last yr and it cost me over $ 1, 800 plus to ship my 3 Pugs , on a direct flight . And I suggest you have a good attorney , if you have any employees to help in this endeavor ....they get hurt or visitors on your property get hurt by accident or not , your fault or not , guess what ? You just lost not only your animals , but your house as well . I agree with some of the other responses , ..
I think you should stick with some type of botanical farming .

I think it was the cow that bit you- I mean, really who has EVER heard of a horse biting someone- that's just ludicrous! Personally I think Penguin farming sounds fabulous- as there are some warm weather penguins out there- however for YOU- I truly believe you should think about HAND raising scorpions. I know for a fact that they are very tame and have a 0% chance of biting you as they have no teeth. Yeah- scorpions are the way to go!! Best of luck to you!!

Wow...I mean, wow...I want to riducule you, but on the off chance you might actually be serious...it makes me want to cry.
If you can't tell the difference between a horse and a cow, then you must be blind. All animals with mouths can bite...birds, reptiles, mammals, amphibians, fish, arthropods...everything bites. You can't keep penguins without permits and a proper enclosure. There also really isn't a market for penguin meant, sorry to disappoint.
I believe I have to tell you that this is a pipe dream.

i'd say if you can't tell the difference between a horse, and a cow, you may want to do some more learning before even attempting to raise livestock.
type cow into yahoo or google.com whichever you use
and then see what one looks like
and then horse.....
both can bite.
a cow is most likley to bite you if you are feeding it, and it just over reaches the food.
the horse is more likely to have bit you.

Is this a serious question?
ANY animal will bite if scared. If you don't want to be bitten, farm tomatoes.
You can't eat penguins. You can't raise them for meat, and you can't keep them in Arizona.
