Evolution, 100's of years of evidence and proof.

Folks, it's no longer a theory... It's a fact.

And hasn't anyone ever told you, you can't cite the bible in an argument? It's basic academia.

That's like saying I can cite the Book of the Dead, or Moby Dick.

You can't even compare the two. Evolution is a theory that explains the existence of a fossil record, complete with physical evidence that in turn comports with astronomical, geological, and chemical findings.

Creation is a spiritual or religious explanation of WHY - not how or whether - life formed here on Earth (and maybe elsewhere). Creation is a philosophical approach to the age-old conundrum of why we exist.

Creation and evolution are NOT necessarily incompatible - except when people espouse creation as an EXCLUSIVE ALTERNATIVE to evolution, which it isn't. Those who believe in creation (more accurately, creationism) in this way also believe in a literal acceptance of religious scriptures that offer timelines and dates that are incompatible with the scientific record.

Evolution, as said, is a theory - but in science, "theory" is that which explains irrefutible physical evidence. Evolution isn't even the only scientifically based theory out there - but it is the most consistent theory and the one most widely accepted. Creation - again - is not "theory" at all, it's philosophy.

Creation. Micro-evolution is not in dispute. Macro-evolution, however, has never been, nor can it ever be proven scientifically. The origin of species is an historical question that the scientific method is simply not equipped to answer. We cannot go back in history and develop an experiment to prove/disprove evolution, and then have other independent scientists duplicate the experiment to verify it. As a theory, it has taken on the quality of being unfalsifiable. No matter what data is unearthed, scientists just explain it away.

Macro-evolution is simply a faith commitment. It is a worldview/paradigm in light of which some people view the material world. It is an a priori assumption.

Creation can be proven by the fact that all the evidence we have points to creation ex nihilo (out of nothing). In addition, the triune God of scripture is the only basis for morality, the uniformity of natural "laws," and the existence of abstract, non-material entities (logic, mathematics, language).

Evolution.
For those who wonder why there are both apes and humans existing at the same time, the answer is simple: we both evolved from a common ancestor, but not in the same environment, or under the same selective stresses, and therefore not at the same rate. All species of apes are at a different intellectual level, some closer to monkeys, some closer to humans. But there is a gradation of intelligence. Not all species of cats or dogs or birds are of the same intelligence, either. Evolution explains both the similarities and the difference between the different animals on Earth. Creation just tells us that they exist, with the only challenge being to accept it or reject it.

You can believe in both. Personally, I've always thought that God set things in motion, but animals just didn't pop into existence...that's just an idiotic notion. I cannot deny evolution, it just makes too much sense. There is an overwhelming amount of evidence behind it and from what I've studied it is correct, it's not even a question of belief. I mean, you can chose not to believe in guns, but they will still kill you...that's the best analogy I can give for this whole "I don't believe in evolution" thing.

Evolution. There is a lot of evidence for evolution like the fossil record, genetics and the rise of drug resistant bacteria. The only evidence for creation is that it says so in a book and there are a lot of other books which say otherwise.

Both. I don't understand why there's debate around this. Creation and evolution doesn't completely exclude one another. God ruled with evolution. He created beings, practically out of nothing, in the process of evolution. Why can't everybody understand this?

evolution, if you don't believe in god its rather simple.

one of the core concepts of biology is evolution. there are amphibians, reptiles, mammals.

like all mammals we have a 4 chambered heart, hair, give milk to our young and so on.

DNA gives another solid link. Our DNA control switches are identical to all mammals, and so on. it may be utterly demoralizing to humans, but go to the zoo and compare the pictures of hands for each money species and you will see virtually the same hand.

and if you don't believe a species can change, in human history we turned the wolf into the chihuahua.

Evolution. Even the pope says it's more than a simple theory.

To answer that you need to think about two things.
First: Imagine everyone you know walking around without ever using any kind of cosmetic or hygiene aid and completely nude. This would be are most natural state and the best way to see if we are of animal or something more in gods image in nature.
Second: you would need to have no natural fear of death without reassurance of an after life.
Then and only then could you have an honest answer.
My answer, maybe both ideas are true.
