It's ok to resemble your avatar, but I think most people look more 3dimensional.
Don't stress about a webcam, just do like most of us, and build an avatar from stock inventory that most resembles you.
I think it is a good idea for people to use avatars that resemble themselves, even the ones that look like a square grey-smiley face. It makes it easier for people who like your questions to find them.

well if it is the closest then that is good so at least we know u have longish blonde hair...nd that isnt a bad thyng cuz if u do eventually get a web cam then we would know wut u kinda look like..i look almost like my avatar except when i get pink and black highlioghts then i wont but i do have blonde hair so at least u know wut i look lyk kinda...but it doesnt matter if u look lyk ur av. cuz really sum ppl on here dont look lyk their av. sum r really fat ppl but they dont have really fat ppl on here (no offence) no one looks exactly lyk their av. os dont worry sum of the ppl with purple or pink hair really dont have purple or pink hair it doesnt matter as long as u have fun with making an av
