I'm looking for sites with online games, activities, etc for children ages 12 to 14.

12 to 14 year olds today aren't anything like the sort of people you seem to think they are. They're not really children anymore. They're going through a rebellious stage and probably won't like anything you suggest, anyway. Some of them will like online fantasy/role-playing games whereas some will like myspace and some will be more into like neopets.com. There's no answer to this -- all kids are different.

Check out Neopets.com! You can create a virtual pet, and play games to earn points to feed, accesorize, and house your pet. Tons-o-fun! And I have never once encountered an unsafe situation.

Might I suggest puzzlepirates.com. I know it's not for everyone, but there are tons of fun minigames to play in it and it is a very user-friendly interface with real style.

www.neopets.com is great for that age group, and higher. if they are under 13, it will limit the social interactions to keep it safer.
