Whether those thoughts can affect the outside world I do not know for certain, although I have no doubt that it is possible even if in just a small way.

However, your state of mind can have a very strong effect on your own physical world, your body. For instance, worry can raise your heartbeat and bloodpressure among other things. Too many people spend thier whole lives worrying or wondering about what might have been and these things can have a terrible effect on both your mental and physical well-being and afect those around you as well.

So in that way I suppose the answer to your question is yes.

In an indirect manner, perhaps. It generally reflects on your feelings, which can change your actions, which does affect the physical world. Kind of in a dimensional type of way. For instance, you think about asking a crush out, but you don't take any action. Your thoughts affect your feelings, and you feel depressed. This affects the actions you make while in this mood. Plus, if you had taken the action to ask the crush out, then the physical world would be different.

I suppose...

In a way yes. For example if you have fear you will often attract what you fear into your life and then it happens. even if you think you are not taking action. for example say i fear being alone for the rest of my life, i then become consumed with this fear and then i end up not being able to talk to people and make friends etc. The chances of me becoming what i feared has become reality. There is a book that was written by 11 different scientists and the Dali lama called negative emotions and it is a great book to read concerning this stuff.

we are in permanent, continuously inter-action with de "physical" world.
how does this world seem to us, is because of our thoughts.
there's no way for not interacting with our environment, the "physical" world, the people, everthing.
every thought you've got would become eventually in an action.
even if you are a nun confined in a cell just "thinking", with no one allowed to see or talk to you, you are leaving effects in our world.
