First answer the question what looks best on you? A current hairstyle is important, not something that looked good when you were 20. So if you always had short hair, stay short, but stay current. If you were a long-haired lass, then stay with a current long hair style. No matter what, hair should have movement to be youthful.

No, not all women will look best with shorter hair once they reach mid 40's. I don't think many women at any age look good with really short hair. I understand a middle aged women cutting her waist length hair to chest or shoulder length, but not a woman cutting her chest/shoulder length hair dead short, that would be a big mistake. Instead, she should try putting in some layers and colour to liven it up. Contrary to popular belief, short hair does not necessarily make one look younger, especially now it is associated with older women anyway, I would think it would show off the signs of ageing more (ie wrinkles, age spots) and give a more mature appearance. I think at least chin length looks best, no matter what your age, but long hair can give a very youthful appearance on an older woman, as long as it has volume and colour, otherwise it can drag the face down. But overall, long hair generally appears more youthful and feminine. HTH : )

A lot of older women look good with short hair but the Today Show had a fashion peice one day that said older women should avoid thinking that just because they're a certain age they have to abandon the beautiful long hair they love.

Im this kind of sucker for lengthy hair so I gotta remark in this question :) activity it! i imagine once you've pleasing and lengthy hair you may want to save it till you want to modify. I new a lady round an same age. She decrease her hair short, and then about per week later, 2 different ladies wanting to get the exact same haircut, and colour it an same way she did. Now I keep in mind Cliques in extreme college, shall we not go there back... Be your self and income from the blessing of lengthy healthful hair.

It's great that you care about how you look. I'm not certain that hair length makes a woman look younger or older. You should consider how you feel in your hair. Sometimes people see you just how you see yourself. If you feel good about yourself, you exude confidence.

I think long hair is more versatile because it gives you more options. You can wear it up, down, in a braid or poneytail etc. You can adjust it to your mood, or outfit - or occasion.

It depends their weight, but usually short hair looks better. It portrays a sense of giddyness and youth, but can look sultry and attractive, too. Long hair can be beautiful, but it really depends on the tpe of person. Long hair gives a look of wisdom and age, but after a while can seem monotonous. If I were you, i would go for medium-short, becasue it has that childish look to it, but can be worn in many different ways.

I really think shorter hair pretty much always looks better on older women. I think long hair on older women makes them look even older, not younger. It's a pretty daggy look, and very old fashioned - whereas short hair will most likely make you look younger, carefree and stylish. Go short!

It depends on the style. But there is nothing tackier than an older woman wearing her daughter or even granddaughter's cloths & hairstyles. Personally I think shorter hair on older women is classic. Not necessarily short-short, but you could still do some nice layering & things.
