I am neither speaking from experience nor watching pole dancers. Strictly speaking from an analytical and physical experiment.

There's a site that provides pole dancing as a form of exercise.
http://www.lilmynx.com/

But the best way to flip upside down and slide down the pole is to leverage your legs around the pole. Brace yourself and slowly release pressure allowing you to slide down.

There isn't just one-way to climb up or go down. Watching is the best way to learn/understand. Check out the link below for a video on Youtube (no nudity :])...she's doing multiple moves but many are going up/down the pole.

First, you learn to climb a pole (most people I know can't even do that much). To climb a pole, you grab the pole with your thighs and hands, extend your body, reach up with your hands, pull yourself up, grab it with your thighs a little higher, repeat. Second, you learn to turn around. Third, you learn to climb upside down without falling on you rhead. Fourth, you make it look sexy.

if youre from ontario, canada theres a really kool studio called flirty girl fitness. it has programs like pole dancing, bar dancing, and recreating dances from music videos. its really kool. ive never been but from the videos ive seen it looks really fun and descent since its not like a major strip joint or anything really dirty. they show u how to spin on the pole and harder stuff. but it also tones your muscles like crazy so at the same time its a crazy workout. im not sure if theres any locations other than canada in toronto.

Check out the book, "S Factor" by Sheila Kelley.
It's about stripping, but it's definintely not trashy like others out there. Very interesting, and a good workout!
If you're wanting to learn, many adult stores have classes to learn that sort of stuff.

I have no idea, but I bet it would be fun to learn, just for PRIVATE moments, of course. I heard that there's a pole you could buy for you house called a L'il Minx. I bet that would put a big 'ol smile on my husband's face.
