This question assumes that it is either biological or a choice. What if it is a psychological neurosis? Perhaps that arrested development during childhood, due to certain enviromental factors, combined with interaction with a person's personality to form homosexuality in general. Sexuality in many circles is thought of as enviromental: Society emphasizes that heterosexuality is the norm, so, without specific deprivations, it becomes the norm. But if there is, say, a lack in masculine/feminine confidence, or a hatred of the persons' same gender, then homosexuality can form (or it could be reacted to by becoming narcissistic and "macho")

I really do not think it's either, in most cases. I think it's a learned behavior.Th tendencies are there until acted upon.So I guess It can be a conscience choice or an Un conscience choice.I see some gays who look happy being gay. Others seem to be unhappy with it So who really knows?. It's a difficult question.

I think people who are truely gay are born that way. Think about children, ever go to school and be like, dang she/he acts gay? They didnt learn that. It is biological.

In today's society some people choose to engage in sexual activities that are homosexual. (hence the song, "Some girls dance with woman, knowing that it gets them attention".

Actually it has been happening since the beginning of time. Look into Greek Mythology, even Hercules had male lovers...(I studied it, and I know it) Anyways it is hard to tell who is born gay and who is choosing that life. So your answer is, both.

Nature/nurture - the oldest question in the book. The answer is simple. It is partly genetic and partly social. I'll tell you how there are certain characteristics we inherit and there are certain characteristics that are learned. Therefore being 'gay' is a definition and depending on our own individual interpretation of that is to how true an answer you end up with!

You are Born Homosexual. I remember reading a few years back in McLeans or Time that they did research on this and believe there is a gene to determine your sex preference. There was even proof that the gene "ran" in the family as there were families in the study that had homosexual siblings and/or aunts & uncles. This is not something homosexuals choose - they are born with the preference. Would you choose to be ridiculed and picked on?

i saw a thing on discovery about rats and they proved that rats can be born gay.
what they did was they injected hormons in to the male fetus and testoterone into the famle fetus and before you knew it they were born and the male rats were carrying purses around there cage and the female rats were playing baseball. i was like how did the rat get a purse in teh first place i thought it was staged so i conducted a experiment on rabits and i did the same thing. next thing i new the rabits were humping eachother like rabbits then i looked and turns out that thats just what animals do they hump each other so then i was like maybe animals arent the way to go so i just asked my uncle whos gay if he was born that way and he said yeah so yeah they are born gay.
