Yes they do. We were on our boat on Leiber Lake and watched one fly down and scoop it up. Then we followed the eagle to its nesting site and watched it feed its young.(we had binoculars.)

It was quite a site to see.

The answer is yes. The bald eagle belongs to a group of eagles known as sea eagles. They are called sea eagles is because they are normally found near bodies of water, whether it be a lake, sea, or river.

Fish is the primary food source for the bald eagle, whether dead or alive. But they also scavenge and rob other birds such as ospreys of their meal. And bald eagles will also hunt waterfowl, rodents, rabbits and other small mammals.

Yep! Pretty cool to watch, too.

But more often, they like to steal them from other raptors -- here near the Chesapeake Bay, we have lots of both Osprey and Bald Eagles. Pretty wild to watch a bald eagle duke it out with an osprey for dinner!
