Well, you're saying what you want to (for free) on this
Yahoo site, aren't you? In America, most people say what
they darn please (just watch the Imus Show as they also
use sex words and others, as does Howard Stern). But,
like any other rule, there had to be put into place some
exceptions (like not using the N word, not shouting fire in
a crowded theatre, not saying racist things, not defaming
someone's character {tho Democrats have been doing this
to President Bush for two or more years now}, not lying under
oath {which President Clinton did anyway},not saying God
in the Pledge of Allegiance, misrepresenting a product you're
selling, and there's other examples. But basicly, you can get by saying whatever you please and even bash our own government, burning the American flag, etc. etc.

Free Speech as George Orwell put it, is the freedom to say 2+2=4. Since we aren't quite that fargone, yet, I would say its the freedom to have movies like the one below play in theatres even though they rock a boat Time Warner doesn't want rocked.

Free speech is you can say what ever you want .On the computer, news, newspaper. The list could go on forever but you get the picture.Like, for example, I can go to D.C. and say that I hate the president and I want a new one,and they can't throw me in jail.It basicly means you can say what you want to say and nobody can stop you.

free speech is that thing that allows people to speak their mind as long as it's not harming those around them or giving away some secret intelligence or something. :) it's very helpful when one wants to tell others what they think, but it also is sometimes not so good because it allows people to offend others. it all depends on how you look at it.

It is saying whatever you want that is true and doesn't risk harm to another, nor divulge confidential information. Oh, yeah, in public.

That kinda has elements of both defining and listing what you can't say.

Free speech just give you the right to say what you want and to who you want. You just cannot slander people.
