here is my form of birth control: i am on the pill, Levlite to be exact. when i am on the actual pill my bf and i don't use a condom. we have both been tested and are clean. my period starts when i start my third week. i know, a bit weird. so when i start the fourth week, the placebo, we use a condom because i don't have my period and i have no birth control in me. then two days after i start the actual pill again, my new month, we stop using condoms until i start my week off again. i already have a baby and we are both responsible adults, not a bunch of kids. i know birth control was made to be effective alone. i take it faithfully and do not miss a day ever, and i have been on it for about nine months. but me and my bf have just started doing it this way. we usually always use a condom but we are in a monogomous relationship and don't like condoms.

okay so to all of you who are on the pill all pill packs except seasonale have a week off placebo week. this is so you can get your period. all pills have this! why do you think 7 of them are a diferent color? i'm not an idiot it's how birth control is.

As long as you take your pills on time then you never need to use condoms. The hormone carries over in your body thru the placebo week.

No birth control pill is 100% effective in preventing pregancy (it sucks, eh?) even when used properly without mistakes; a spermicide might be a good back-up.

It sounds like your pill isn't working very well if you're not taking it one week out of every month. Talk to your Dr. Maybe you could go on the shot or get an IUD or something. In the meantime, use spermacide so you don't get pregnant. Good luck.

it doesnt sound like the pill is really strong enough for you. if you stop taking it for a week every month, then the rate of it working drops pretty drastically. it takes a week or whatever to kick back into action

all I can say is that you have a 50/50 chance of getting pregnate. don't have sex unprotected (without a condomn) 10 days before your period, or not have sex at all, cause really you can get pregnate at anytime.
