Considering Mcdonnalds is a multi billion dollar company....shouldnt the pay their crew and managers better???

shouldnt the give benifits?????? some dont. most opperator owner stores dont give their people anything.

nagement to help 40 people at one time. not to mention the abuse they put up with from high society snobs. besides...without the crew and managers...mcdonnalds could not run.

I think they defintitly should. In my area of ohio..The emloyees all make $5.15hr. They sometimes work you 38hr weeks so they don't have to give you benifits.If your lucky enough to qualify for benifits, its like $40 a week, but you still gotta pay a HUGE copay for anything.If you've been there for a few years, you make a whole $5.25. They break the labor laws by making H.S. kids work till 2am most of the times. You say something about it & they say if you don't like it, you can work somewhere else. (I was 15 almost 16 when they told me that). Its still like that according to my lil bros friends. The break room is a closet w/ a couple of chairs & a radio. They take about 1/2 of your first check for uniform costs If you need a bigger size, you have to pay (like for an XL womens shirt). They stick you on the fryer your first day. Then your on the fryer for your first week while they teach you other stuff. You have to pay $80 for a pair of non-stick shoes within your first month of working. The shoes don't even work. Basicly, you don't get any take home pay till after you've worked there a month or so. They hold your first Actual check. Your offically on the payroll, but your in debt to the company for awhile.
Theres not many jobs in my area that arn't fast food. The good paying ones are $5.50. The only thing that pays more then $6hr is factory work. They only hire men above 21 though. The welfare system is shut down basicly unless you have a newborn child. So the majority of people don't have heatlh insurance. And have to work 2 or 3 jobs to beable to support themselves, but their still poor. They gotta work an hour to buy a Value Meal anywhere. They have to work at least two jobs to even pay rent on an apt. ANY apt. Even in the getto. Alot of familys have 2 adults working 2 jobs each & still not havin money. Those are familys w/out children. Not just young people either. Most people who live here either move when they first can save any money too. or they're on the city-employees payroll. Yes, they mayor can afford to live on a golfcorse, but can't fix a bridge that they've been working on for 3 years. OR fix roads that have so many potholes either your car litterly gets swallowed by one, or you have to replace your shocks every month.
Don't say don't work at McDonalds then. Theres no place else. Its all fast food places around here, or stores like Wal-mart & Kmart. Neither of those pay much better. They K-mart only has 20 employees any ways, and the walmart is horrible. Lots of employees, but theres so many things they should be sued for its not even funny. But they'll hold you up in court until you & everyone you know are in the streets w/ one shoe left.
Don't say just move either. Most of the people around here leave soon as they turn 18 & save up some money for gas. But they usually come back to get their stuff, then get stuck here again trying to save more money for gas & hopefully being able to save enough to get a place somewhere else.
Don't say get an education. That costs money. Money that dosn't exist. theres not enough loans/grants available to cover the college costs around here. & not enough money to get to any other colleges. And public education? its funded by the city. The New H.S. that they built 15 years ago, has had the same trash cans in the same spots in the hallway anytime it rains for the past 8 years. Since I went there, & my brother goes there & they're still there. The classes have 22 desks on avg & about 37 students avg. The test books were old when I went there (they brought them from the old H.S.) & my brother still uses the same books, in fact, one that he has has my name in the front. They tore down the middle schools & built a new one. I guess the students there don't have text-books. Just one class set of 30 that stays in the class. Any research they have to do, their told to go online. Even though the majorty of people only have the internet for the 3 month aol offer. The library has 5 computers. The H.S. has 10, 3 or which only the librarians & teachers can use, and theres garenteed to be at least 2 at any givin time thats out of order. They also lock all the bathrooms but one at various times of day to save money or some crap. The middle school has 23 computers I think they said. I bet their crap too. Oh & the air conditioning/heating at the H.S. has been broke since 6 months after the school opened. IT still isn't fixed. So obiviously the city can't fund the schools, so the schools are crap. So so is the education the kids get. So if your interested in moving to ohio, e-mail me. I'll tell you where NOT to move. ACK!!!! I think I rambled. I get mad. Very mad. About living in this craphole. Ya, McDonalds should pay a h*ll of a lot more!!!

Working at a fast food place does not mean you dropped out of school or your just plain lazy. Should start around min wage then have decent raises if you deserve it. Some people work very hard and others lol just let every one else to the work and eventually get fired.ya Mc D's is a billion dollar chain because they pay less. Benefits that it a tricky ? some sort of pkg should be available. ma and pa operated places usually just make enough to see a little profits and some only last a yr or two if lucky. so those kind of jobs only take if ya need a summer job or to make a little extra.

I do not think you should get pd 10.00 an hr but a decent wage for the job you do. Mc D is not a job you should think of making career out of. Some people won't work for minimum wage but their is always a teenager that will.

Revenues are at an all-time HIGH into the government coffers. Tax cuts stimulate the economy. HOWEVER, the government has a bad habit of spending whatever they get, including on pork. Bridge and highway repairs are a classic example. The government has passed bills for such repairs, then turns around and redirects those funds to things like planting flowers in the medians and creating bike paths. So don't blame the tax cuts... blame how the government is using OUR money.

I'm sure they are underpaid and I absolutely think it is time for federally mandated increase of the minimum wage.

However, these days many many people are underpaid. My husband's union had to agree to a three year pay freeze in order to avoid lay offs (and the lay offs would have effectively shut down the business bc of not enough labor! oh -- and he has an graduate degree too) Our health insurance premiums and co pays go up every year. In general it just sucks that my generation is the first ever to not be able to imagine making a better life for our kids than we had ourselves growing up.

I wouldnt think so considering that anyone could work at McDonalds. Its not like you need a trade or a degree to flip hamburgers. Its a job that requires no effort. I can say so because I have worked there.

They are a multi billion dollar company because they save money by paying less. Why should someone with no education make good money? If we pay people that work at McDonalds well then all we are teaching society is that if you do nothing with your life you get good things. What kind of message is that?
