Without a brain there would not be any living things!

The brain is the central computer from which we-our selves, relative mammals and animals function. It is a central feature and a control panel of complex electrical circuity with billions of an input - output (current voltages) signals/second.

Second opinion - I just asked my co-worker this question as he was passing by (he is from china). When asked why the brain is so important he paused for a second and finally responded "because the brain in charge of your body" and walked away.

it acts like a hard drive from the computer. if we dont have one it wont work
